Good News Clubs
- We praise you Lord that approval has finally been granted for the Goleta Good News Clubs to begin again – They will all start next week!
- Thank you Lord that Dena Schultz has stepped up to be the Foothill Club director, allowing Kim and Vera to focus on ministering to the children. We praise you that Ann Jones is able to return as well to love on those kids and read the missionary story.
- Thank you Lord that the Santa Ynez club will begin in early October. Thank you for answering our prayers and for providing an awesome couple from The Ranch Church who will be joining Karen and Magda’s volunteer team!
- Thank you Lord that the Carpinteria club will be starting in early October, and that several people from Reality Carpinteria are super excited to volunteer! We pray that we can also start a club at Aliso School! Thank you Lord for Cindy Blackman, who will continue to lead the club.
- Thank you Lord for a great turnout and excellent prayer at Washington School and Hope School. Lord, soften the hearts of the superintendents, principals, teachers, and parents so they will allow Good News Club to return to these campuses soon.
- Lord, we pray for miracles in Lompoc. We ask that you would open one or more GNCs in Lompoc as soon as possible. Please soften the heart of the Lompoc Unified superintendent and La Honda Principal Lesley Davis so the club can re-open. We pray that other avenues of ministry in Lompoc would open as well, such as Fillmore School. Lord, please lead the way in Lompoc!
- Lord, we praise you that we are able to have a club at Roosevelt School again this fall. The club will start tomorrow, Wednesday. Lord, we pray that every child that attended club last year would return, and that many new children would start coming to club. Lord, we ask that you allow club advertising on campus and through digital media. Thank you for Sharon, Deb and Bryan who will be leading this club.
- We praise you that Theresa and Carolyn will go to Hollister School to join Bonnie and some new volunteers. Thank you for answering these prayers.
- Thank you Lord that Vieja Valley School has granted our club to return. We pray that the school and PTA will help us market our Good News Club and that we can distribute physical and digital flyers. Thank you for Janine, Marina, Jenny and Katie who will be returning to this club.
- We pray that if it’s Your will, we can open a GNC at Cold Springs School. We ask that you would bring both adult and student volunteers, especially the one student who is in teacher training and is very interested in volunteering. We pray that the principal, who is a Christian, will be supportive to having a club at the school. Lord, we pray for your perfect timing.
- Lord, we pray for the Brandon Club. Thank you for Lisa and her volunteer team. We pray the word would get out and that many kids would attend this club. We praise you that Anne Haas will volunteer there.
- We lift up the following volunteers who would like to start Junior Youth Challenge Clubs for junior high students:
- Several Lompoc volunteers who have children at Lompoc Valley Jr. High would like to start a JYC.
- A Carpinteria Middle School teacher from Reality Church is interested in starting a JYC at his school.
CEF
- Lord, we thank you for a very successful Good News Club training for our volunteers last Saturday. Thank you Lord for bringing many new volunteers to this training as well as those who have been with us a long time. We learned new material on how to present the Wordless Book!
- Sharon and our board members have reached out to Restoration Church, New Life, Anthem Chapel, Santa Ynez Presbyterian and other churches. We pray for many new opportunities to present CEF, and that You will bring us many new volunteers.
- Lord, please lead us as we investigate running a CEF booth at our SB fair next April.
- Lord, we pray for our upcoming golf tournament on September 27.
- We praise you Lord for the many sponsors who have stepped up to support CEF. We pray for a few more sponsors, a full slate of golfers, and many more raffle prizes.
- We pray for the Golf Committee – that they would have the time, energy and creativity to organize this tournament in a way that is glorifying to You.
