CEF is a volunteer-driven missionary organization. It is the largest organization serving children in the world and is located in all but one country in the world.
Our CEF volunteers are from all walks of life, and from different churches. They have a love for Jesus and a love of children. People ask what the requirements are to be a volunteer. It is really simple:
- A testimony of salvation by Jesus Christ and a walk with God
- A call to work with children
- A faithful commitment to serve a couple of hours a week
- An ability to work with others and attend fun volunteer trainings
- A filled out application, submission to a basic background check and fingerprinting, and a meeting with our ministry coordinator
That’s it! No kid experience, no teaching experience, no special talents required. Volunteers run the club, teach, play with the children, listen to the children, pray with the children, and interact with parents and teachers.
CEF provides a fantastic training program along with the tools and resources to reach the children you would work with. If you are interested in visiting a Good News Club, please contact Sharon Jegottka, our ministry coordinator.
One of the advantages of being part of an organization that has been around for over 80 years is that we have a system that works. It was been refined over the years – the good kept and the bad thrown out. We have training programs, curriculum and support resources that are second to none.
If you come with a willing heart and a good attitude and give a few hours a week, we assure you that you will never be the same. The kids will touch you, God will use you and you will be blessed!
